What should I wear to class?

Wear comfortable workout clothes such as yoga pants or capris and a tank top or t-shirt. Wearing layers is recommended during the winter months. No shoes are required but you are welcome to keep socks on as long as they are not slippery.

What should I bring to class?

A hipscarf if you own one. If not, loaner hipscarves are available for use during class. Brand new hipscarves are also available for sale. A water bottle is also recommended.

Where are you located?

The studio is located at The Downtown Yoga Holistic Centre: 236 Dundas St, across from the Central Library.  The classes are held on the third floor

What are the parking options?
  • Meters on the street are free after 6:00pm. Spaces are marked on purple in the map below. ***include map***
  • At the Public Library. A parking pass can be validated inside if you have a library card.
  • The London Life parking lot is free after 6:00 pm. When parking there, the studio can be accessed through the back door. The entrance is below the stairs to the second floor of the building.

Is there an age limit on classes?

No, students vary in ages. As long as the younger students are able to follow directions during the hour long class, they can participate.

Do I need to be fit to take the class?

Bellydancing is a great way to exercise and you don’t need to be in top physical shape to do it. However, if you have any injuries please consult with your healthcare professional before taking the class and make sure to mention any concerns to me prior to starting the session.

What if I miss a class?

There are no make up classes. However, a choreography video is posted weekly for practice in case you are absent and want to see what has been taught during class. I send out a link to this every week, right to your email if you're a registered student.

What is the class format?

The class starts with a warm up routine followed by a shimmy drill. We continue with steps and drills and starting on the second week of the session we work on combinations that are used in a choreography. The class ends with a cool down and stretching and routine.

I have taken classes before. Should I sign up for the Beyond Beginner class?

It is recommended to start at the beginner level in order to assess your skills. If the class is too basic you can switch to the beyond beginner class at no extra registration fee. Please contact me if this is the case.

How many beginner sessions should I take before I move up to beyond beginner?

Taking a couple of beginner classes before moving to the beyond beginner class is the best way to get comfortable with the fundamental steps and learning to follow choreography.

What is your Refund Policy?

If you feel like the class isn't for you or you are unable to attend the class after signing up, I will refund your registration fee in full before the third class.
