Rising Moon Studio is an inclusive space where everyone is welcome. Any type of abusive language, actions and clothing reflecting any kind racism, sexism, transphobia, xenophobia, homophobia, islamophobia etc. and any form of physical or verbal harassment will not be tolerated.

We suggest that you wear comfortable workout clothes such as yoga pants/capris and a tank-top/t-shirt. Wearing layers is recommended during the winter months. No shoes are required for our classes, but you are welcome to keep socks on so long as they are not slippery.

If you own a hip scarf you should bring it with you to class. If you do not own your own hipscarf then you will be able to use a loaner scarf during class.

We sell brand new hipscarves through our store! You can find them here.

Make sure to also bring a water bottle so that you can stay hydrated.

We are open during class times but can also be available by appointment. Please text or call 519-495-4265 if you would like to come in at any other time.

We are located at 190 Wortley Rd, Unit LL5. The building is on Wortley Rd across from Value Mart. Please access the building through side door near the pharmacy and proceed down the stairs to the lower level.

There is plenty of parking at the building and also there is parking on the street.

The minimum age is 13 years old. There is no maximum age, as long as you are able to follow the instructions given during class.

Bellydancing is a fantastic way to get exercise, and does not require you to be in tip-top physical shape to participate. However, if you have any injuries we highly recommend that you consult with a healthcare professional before taking the class. Please be sure to mention any concerns prior to starting the session so that we can better accommodate you.

You can make up the missed class by attending another class of the same level or a drop in class. We also post weekly choreography videos for practice through the student portal.

Our classes begin with a warm-up routine followed by a shimmy drill. We continue the class with steps and drills. Starting on the second week of the sessions we begin to work on combinations that are used in a choreography. The class ends with a cool down and stretching routine.

It is recommended that you start at the beginner level even if you have taken a class before in order to assess your skills. If the class is too basic, you can switch to the beyond beginner class at no extra registration fee. If you feel that this applies to you please contact us beforehand.

Taking a handful of beginner classes before moving to the beyond beginner class is the best way to become comfortable with the fundamental steps and with learning to follow choreography.

If you are unable to continue taking the class due to health reasons, the cost will be pro-rated and a refund issued for the remaining number of classes. Please  contact us as soon as you know whether you are able to continue or not.
